Role Overview:

We are seeking a detail-oriented and analytically driven Royalty Analyst to join our dynamic valuation team. In this role, you'll play a critical part in the engine of our marketplace, turning complex royalty statements into actionable insights that drive investment decisions. Your primary responsibility will be analyzing, interpreting, and synthesizing music royalty statements and preparing the data for ingestion into our internal systems for further valuation and analysis.

Responsibilities:

• Analyze and interpret music royalty statements from diverse sources, including streaming services, performing rights organizations, publishers, labels, and distributors.
• Accurately transform and organize royalty data into structured formats compatible with our internal valuation systems.
• Collaborate closely with the valuation team to ensure data accuracy, completeness, and consistency.
• Develop and maintain processes for efficient royalty data transformation, contributing to continuous improvement and automation initiatives.
• Provide insights and context from royalty statements to valuation analysts, assisting them in making informed investment assessments.
• Conduct data quality checks to identify discrepancies or anomalies in royalty statements and rectify or escalate appropriately.
• Keep abreast of industry trends and developments in royalty reporting practices and standards.

Ideal Candidate:

• Has prior experience or exposure to music royalties, either in royalty administration, music publishing, licensing, or a related analytical role (royalty income tracking and royalty auditing).
• Demonstrates the ability to quickly interpret complex royalty statements and translate them into clear, actionable data.
• Possesses proficiency or familiarity with business intelligence and ETL data transformation tools such as Excel (advanced functions), Tableau, Power BI, SQL, Alteryx, Pentaho or similar.
• Exhibits meticulous attention to detail, strong organizational skills, and the ability to manage multiple streams of data concurrently.
• Communicates clearly, proactively, and effectively with cross-functional teams.
• Passionate about music, financial analysis, and contributing to a groundbreaking platform.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, Music Industry Studies, Data Science, or a related field (preferred but not required).
• At least 1-3 years of relevant experience analyzing royalty statements, financial statements, or similar detailed financial documents.
• Demonstrable experience or strong understanding of music royalty concepts (mechanical, public performance, synchronization, streaming royalties).
